I’m Maarit, a humanist visual artist and family photographer based in Jämsä. Family photography is at the heart of my work — I aim to record those small, authentic encounters and everyday moments that form your family’s story. My approach is calm and people-centered: I strive to make the session feel natural and safe for newborns, children and adults alike. My style is warmly documentary with subtle emotional emphasis. I look for real interaction and the content of a moment rather than interrupting it with artificial directions. In my cozy natural-light studio in Jämsä the atmosphere is unhurried and child-friendly — I especially allow time to follow the gentle rhythm of newborn sessions. I also offer lifestyle on-location shoots outdoors or at your home when you prefer familiar surroundings and natural light. For newborn and baby photography I work slowly and gently, matching the family’s pace; I’m experienced at ensuring both the child’s and parents’ comfort. When photographing children I prioritise a playful and encouraging atmosphere that lets them be themselves. For celebratory photography, such as christenings or birthday portraits, I bring sensitivity and careful composition — the images convey the feelings of the event without heavy staging. After the session I carefully process the material, preserving the mood of the moment while refining the images into a timeless form.
