I’m Paula, Hersyvä’s family photographer based in Jyväskylä. My family photography is built on sensitivity, warmth and authentic moments: I look for the light, the atmosphere and the small gestures that tell your story. I work gently and calmly with families — a child‑led approach is at the heart of my sessions. I approach family photography both as a photographer and as a mother and social services professional. Experience working with children and a commitment to creating a safe, reassuring environment means I know how to calm situations, guide playfully and let children be themselves. I’m not fazed by tears or surprises; often those moments create the most genuine expressions and the warmest images. I prefer to photograph with natural light — in my studio or on location — because it brings softness and true atmosphere to the images. My working style is thoughtful yet flexible. We plan the session together: I’ll discuss your wishes by email or phone, we’ll agree on location and approach, and I’ll ensure the shoot feels safe and relaxed for you. During the session we always follow the family’s pace; with newborns and small children I leave space for cuddles, feeding or rest — and I’m happy to capture those moments if you wish. I offer family photography, newborn and baby photography, children’s portraits, and celebratory sessions such as christening and birthday photography.
