I often photograph in the studio on Mannerheiminaukio or at a carefully chosen location outdoors. Our studio is a calm space where you can change outfits and where we can create a variety of lighting setups — light is one of Anu’s passions. She uses lighting to bring out facial expressions, intimate moments and the closeness between family members. Outdoor lifestyle sessions are planned together; season, weather and location influence the results and help produce soft, atmospheric light. My working method is based on collaboration and preparation. We can hold a pre-shoot consultation to go through wishes, styles and any props — planning is especially helpful with young children and newborns to ensure the session runs smoothly. During the shoot Anu acts as a director: she suggests poses, composition and expressions while listening to clients’ wishes and leaving room for genuine interaction and spontaneous moments. Part of the Studio Sundell client experience is finished photographic products. In post-production and image preparation we draw on Anu’s professional background to ensure a high-quality result that will remain a treasured memory for years. Images are archived, so favourite photos can be ordered later if you wish.
