Studio Ullakko

Studio Ullakko is a family photographer based in Kouvola, specializing in genuine, atmospheric family photos as well as baby and children’s portraits. Founded by Ulla Korjala, the studio is located in a more than 100-year-old wooden house in the museum quarter; the cosy, calm surroundings are reflected in the images. My aim is to capture your family’s moments naturally, without unnecessary rush. Why choose Studio Ullakko for family photography? Family sessions are at the heart of my work. I photograph with a gentle, calm approach that many parents have appreciated. Sessions always proceed at the child’s and family’s pace: I allow plenty of breaks and time to get acquainted so that each child’s true personality can come forward. Pets are welcome and are photographed safely in a pet-friendly atmosphere. How do I work? The shooting style is relaxed and guided by your wishes. We can shoot in the studio, in the atmospheric lanes of the museum quarter, or at a pre-agreed location — I select lighting and composition so the final images feel like you. You will receive password-protected digital proofs to review; I carefully finish the selected images, paying attention to colours and natural skin tones. I offer both traditional studio portraits and versatile digital files suitable for wall display, albums or online use. Studio Ullakko’s strength is a people-centered approach and long experience photographing families of all kinds — from newborns to seniors. In addition to family photography, Ulla also photographs confirmation portraits and event portraits, though family sessions remain the studio’s most prominent focus.
