PhotoArt by Katja (Katja Koivumäki) has specialised in family photography in Kemi and the Meri-Lapland area since 2017. For us, the most important thing in family photography is authenticity: we want to capture everyday joys, children’s playfulness and the warm atmosphere of family relationships. Our style blends natural, documentary moments with careful, elegant composition — resulting images that feel familiar and true even years from now. Our studio in Kemi offers a calm environment, a range of background colours and carefully selected props so each family can receive a portrait series that reflects them. We also operate a mobile mini-studio, which makes family sessions flexible: we can come to your home or to a favourite on-location setting. Our specialities include baby and newborn photography, children’s portraits and christening or other family celebration photography — always handled with sensitivity and a focus on safety. My working approach is calm and gently guiding: I aim to create a relaxed atmosphere where even shy children feel comfortable in front of the camera. Before the session we discuss your wishes and ideas, agree on the location and any required props. After the shoot, clients can choose their favourite images via an easy-to-use online gallery, and the final photos are delivered as carefully edited digital files.
