Say cheese! I’m Inka — a family photographer from Lahti and the founder of the Pics by Inka brand. Becoming a mother in 2015 made me pick up my first DSLR and sparked my desire to capture those fleeting moments that everyday life and celebrations bring. That personal, authentic starting point still guides my work: I aim to photograph families as they truly are — warm, spontaneous and sometimes delightfully messy. My specialism is family photography: I tailor each session to the client’s wishes and create a relaxed, secure atmosphere where babies, children and adults can be themselves. Photographing children requires patience, playfulness and the ability to catch that exact moment when expression and emotion meet. I run sessions at the child’s pace — I don’t demand posed smiles or rush anyone. Newborn photography is carried out gently, either in the studio or at home, giving new family members and siblings a natural place in the images. I mainly work in Lahti and the surrounding areas, but I’m happy to photograph in nearby locations too. My approach is documentary and warm — I want the photos to tell a story: a quiet smile, a tender glance, and the beauty of everyday routines. Final images are carefully edited and delivered ready to use, perfect for keepsakes and sharing during special moments. My working style is open and collaborative. Before the shoot we discuss your wishes and practical arrangements, and on the day I keep the atmosphere light while offering gentle guidance for natural poses when needed. It’s important to me that clients find the photo experience enjoyable and genuinely theirs.
