Milla Makia Photography is a studio in Turku specialising in family photography. I work particularly with families and expectant parents, and my goal is to capture genuine, warm moments you will enjoy looking back on for years to come. I approach sessions with a natural, documentary and gentle style — less formal posing and more spontaneous storytelling. Why choose me as your family photographer? Trust and a calm shooting environment are most important to me. I am experienced in working with children: I give space for play, wait for the right moments and encourage relaxed interaction. The result is authentic expressions and touching family images that reflect your everyday life and the connection you share. In maternity sessions I combine sensitivity and naturalness — I want the images to feel personal and meaningful. How do I work? Before the session we discuss your wishes and choose the most fitting location — studio or outdoor locations around Turku depending on the mood you want. During the shoot I guide gently but allow the situation to develop naturally. With families I prioritise a relaxed schedule and flexibility so parents and children can be themselves. In editing I aim for a soft, timeless warm color palette that highlights the emotion and character of the moment. I am a passionate storyteller who wants to see the small and big moments of family life beautifully preserved. While my core expertise is family and maternity photography, I also occasionally shoot weddings — my main focus remains documenting families and the expecting period.
