I’m Selina Hiltunen, a family photographer based in Hyvinge. Family photography is my passion: I aim to capture the tender everyday moments, the laughter and the small gestures that tell your family’s story. My working style is calm and child-led — often the best images appear when we let the moment be natural and focus on emotions rather than posed perfection. My specialities include family and maternity photography as well as baby and newborn sessions. I photograph both in the studio and on location; natural light is one of my favourite tools because it brings softness and timelessness to the images. In my studio or home studio I strive to create a safe, comfortable environment where even shy family members can relax. For on-location sessions we use the mood given by the seasons — the warm tones of autumn or the soft evening light of summer. How do I work? Before the shoot we discuss your wishes and places where you feel comfortable. The session itself is unhurried: I give gentle guidance and encourage genuine interactions, play and closeness. With young children we always proceed at the child’s pace; we take breaks and adapt the schedule when needed. The finished gallery is delivered digitally, from which you can easily choose the images you want. My background in marketing and photography studies at the Pekka Halonen Academy helps me build images that work both as keepsakes and as part of your family’s visual story. I value responsibility and sustainability: most of the props and loaned wardrobe I use are either recycled or domestically produced.
