I'm Laura Kallahti, a family photographer working near Kaarela whose heart is dedicated to the small, meaningful moments and the delicate task of collecting memories. In my work I value authenticity above all: the way parents look at their child, the mischievous laughter between siblings, or a small hand held in another — these are the moments I aim to capture as they are. Photography runs in my family, and my background combines long experience working with people in the social sector with over 15 years of active photography. This mix informs my approach to families: calm, child-centered and safety-focused. In my studio on Maununneva / Kaarela I create a gentle, homely atmosphere where the session proceeds without rush and the family's needs come first. My images emphasize sensitivity, light and the connection between family members. I favor natural light and pared-back environments so that attention stays on people and emotions. Outdoor family portraits take advantage of beautiful spots around the capital region — rocky shorelines, parks and meadows give images airiness and playfulness. I’m happy to advise on wardrobe choices, and my studio offers a selection of loan garments to simplify outfits for the shoot. My working method is planned yet flexible: together we decide the mood and location, and during the session we move at the family's pace. Meeting newborns is particularly important to me; gentle handling, a calm rhythm and safety are present throughout the shoot. Image selection and finishing are done with care — the final result is a beautifully edited collection that’s easy to use both as wall prints and in albums. In addition to family photography, I offer newborn and baby sessions as well as children's portraits at different stages of life. I can also accommodate individual profile or CV photos if needed.
