I’m Jarno Alkio, the family photographer behind Embryo Photography based in Mellunkylä. I approach family photography with passion: my goal is to capture genuine moments and subtle expressions of care without stiff posing. Location photography comes naturally to me — natural light, the surroundings and small facial expressions build an atmosphere in the pictures that will last for years. I know the best spots across the Helsinki area and can select environments that support your family’s personality. Working with children has been part of my everyday life for nearly fifteen years, so creating a relaxed and safe shooting situation is a true strength — children are free to be themselves and parents can take a breath. My working style is gently guiding and calm. I aim to make the shoot as natural and playful as possible: communication is key, so we’ll talk about your wishes before the session and plan the location, clothing and mood together. During sessions I focus on letting your relationships and small daily gestures come through. I want the photos to feel like a true reflection of you — not just pretty compositions. My services focus on family and portrait photography as well as maternity sessions; family photography is at the core of what I do. As a photographer I’m constantly learning and refining my eye and workflow, so the result is high-quality, carefully edited images that work beautifully on your walls or in personal albums.
